KCC IS THE COOL SCHOOL OF THE WEEK!

Kansas City Christian has been selected as the Cool School of the Week by KCTV 5 and Wendy's! The Live broadcast will be from 5:00 am to 7:00 am and will feature students and activities throughout the two hours approximately 4 times an hour with the first broadcast at 5:25 am.

We are asking that all of the High School students who are able and willing to be here at 5:00 am on Friday to showcase our school. However, because we are not only a High School, we would like to invite any students who would like to attend to feel free to be here.

If you are unfamiliar with this event, the station chooses out of nominated schools, one school per week to cameo on their early morning news. It is always a live event and they spotlight the school and its unique activities to the greater metropolitan area! What a wonderful opportunity to share KCC with those who may not know anything about us!

CLASS OF 2013 & 2014 MULCH FUNDRAISER

The Sophomore and Junior Classes are selling mulch again to help raise funds for their Mission Trips. Orders need to be made by March 17 and delivery will start the weekend of March 31 through the first part of April. To view the types of mulch available you can visit the Mulch Fundraiser page or view them on the Mulch Order Form. Payment needs to be included with order form, which can be turned into the front office. Thank you for helping!

JUNIOR TRASH BAG SALE

In an effort to raise money for our Senior mission trip, the Junior Class is selling heavy duty lawn, tall kitchen, and paper yard waste bags. The heavy duty lawn bags are being offered in rolls of 25 at a cost of only $9.00 per roll. The tall kitchen bags come in a roll of 65 for $9.00. Paper yard waste bags are sold as 3-5 packs for $9.00.

PAW PRINT FIRST ISSUE NOW AVAILABLE!

The Journalism class has published it's first issue and it's now available. The paper staff, is excited to reintroduce the school paper in hopes that it will keep students informed and up to date with montly activities. It has been seven years since the Paw Print has been published but they hope to carry on that tradition and provide the students with quality stories, exciting opportunities, insight on issues concerning KCC and a newspaper that is hard to put down. The monthly issues are free to high school students and we'll have a PDF file available here on the website. You can find the PDF here on the Announcements page in the right column in the section titled Paw Print. Feel free to share with other family and friends and thanks for reading!

PLAY GOLF FOR KCC

Get your foursome together for the 2012 Big Eight Golf Scramble on Monday, April 30th at Meadowbrook. KCC will be a participant, along with seven local elementary schools, combining forces for a unique golf event benefitting all of our schools. Each school has their own scramble with proceeds going to their own school. So any money raised by KCC golfers goes to KCC 100%. THEN..from each school there is an A Flight Winner and a B Flight Winner. These 16 teams (A Flight and B Flight Winners from each school) play head to head (A teams versus A teams and B versus B) in a Championship Round on May 14th to win prize money for their school and their names etched on the 3 ft trophy. The trophy stays at the school until next year. Additionally, $5 from every greens fee goes into a pool and the two winning teams (the A Flight Winner and the B Flight Winner) then win that for their school. We're expecting 400 golfers which means there is $2000 in the pot for the winning school. Hit a hole in one and you could win a new Lexus from Superior Lexus. Greens fees are $125 and that includes golf, cart, breakfast, lunch, range balls, goody bag AND a voucher to come back to Meadowbrook and play another round. If you end up playing in the Championship Round there is no charge for you to play that round and lunch is provided by Brio. We are limited to 15 foursomes, so contact Pete Knutson at peterknutson2824@gmail.com for more information on playing, sponsoring a hole or volunteering the day of the event. Last year this event raised over $30,000 for the six schools who played with Prairie Elementary netting $12,000. More details to come, but I hope to see you on the 30th.
