The critical focus of the elementary grades at KCC is laying a firm foundation for our students. It is at this early stage of learning that we begin to develop the whole student. The curriculum blends the academic building blocks with opportunities for spiritual and social growth. With an efficient student-to-teacher ratio, our elementary classrooms provide a nurturing environment that allows the student to learn to their fullest potential. Our teachers are certified in their respective areas and committed to Christian education. They provide multi-level learning opportunities which include visual, manipulative and auditory styles. It is in this smaller learning environment that our teachers gain personal knowledge of each student and strive to meet their learning needs. This is a unique offering when comparing national trends in education.
In our ever changing world, basic skills are still grounded in the core subjects of reading, writing, math and science. Using a phonics based program in our lower elementary classes, core skills of reading and writing are emphasized. Integration of a Christian worldview is found in the teaching of all subjects, classroom discussions and personal relationships. KCC's elementary classes consist of grades K-5.
Kansas City Christian offers two elementary campuses: Prairie Village (K-5) and Oxford Park (K-3). See the Oxford Park Campus page for information regarding our preschool and elementary program at this location.
