High School

At the high school level, students have more freedom in determining their own educational path. While some students know from day one where the next four years will lead them, other students are just beginning to envision their next steps. It is for this reason that KCC blends a strong core academic program with electives and college preparatory courses. Throughout, our curriculum is designed to promote a deeper Biblical study and the development of critical thinking skills. KCC students excel academically with consistently above average ACT results. Over 95% of our seniors go on to pursue four year degree programs with many receiving excellent academic scholarships.

CURRICULUM

The high school curriculum is distinctly college preparatory and includes dual-credit, honors level, as well as Advanced Placement courses (AP). A vast majority of our seniors are enrolled in one or more advanced offerings. Course offerings also include foreign language, computer, art, music, debate, forensics, and drama. Over 95% of our seniors go on to pursue four-year college degrees. A majority of our students receive academic, leadership and/or athletic scholarships to a wide variety of higher educational institutions across the country.

TEST SCORES
Kansas City Christian students continue to excel academically with consistently above average ACT results. The KCC average composite score on the ACT is 24.3. This data is based on the past 6 year average with 91% of graduates taking the test. The national ACT average composite score is 21 and the Kansas ACT average composite score is 22.

The 91% of KCC graduates taking the ACT represents a significantly higher proportion of students taking the test than is typical. As the percentage of test takers considered is reduced to approach typical percentages, KCC student’s average results are even more impressive. For example, the top 75% of KCC students who took the ACT over the past five years scored an average composite score of 26.

Equally impressive is the performance of KCC’s top quartile of students. Over the past 6 years, the top 25% of KCC students scored an average composite score of 29.
