Mrs. Martha Couric serves as the kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Karen Godfrey is our first grade teacher, Mrs. Michele Friesen is the second grade teacher and Mrs. Pat Fair directs the preschool program.
Mrs. Couric brings a wealth of 22 years of teaching experience (11 with KCCS) supported by a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas Woman's University. She enriches the school with a certification in Elementary Music, and enjoys "showing off" our talent with programs in Fall, at Christmas and in the Spring. "My job is to create an atmosphere in which love and excitement for learning is caught, and where students feel secure to take risks in learning new things every day."
Mrs. Godfrey transitioned to the Oxford Park Campus after 9 years of teaching first grade at the Prairie Village Campus. She holds a teaching degree from Emporia State with an emphasis in Early Childhood and Special Needs. Her greatest joy is "to hear a child read God's Word for the first time!"
Mrs. Friesen and her family have been part of Kansas City Christian for 14 years. Both of her sons have attended KCCS since kindergarten. She has taught at KCCS for eight years in Kindergarten, First and Second grades. She received her degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from Southwest Baptist University. She believes that children learn best when they feel secure and confident, so she uses lots of praise and encouragement in the classroom. Since children learn differently, she likes to provide many "hands on activities" that meet the needs of all learning styles.

Mrs. Fair, known as Miss Pat to her students, has served as the Preschool Director for KCCS for 18 years. She holds an Elementary Education degree from Hobe Sound Bible College, is certified for her position, and is sought out throughout the community by families who desire a challenging and loving preschool experience. Miss Pat believes that "a child's first experience with school should occur in a rich learning environment that is safe, positive and fun."
